Mary Bolton Yoga San PanchoYoga is a way of life, as well as a collection of practices and teachings that provide a foundation on which we can live our everyday lives as well as awaken into greater self-awareness.

With more than 25 years of study, practice, and teaching, there is little separation between my practice and my life. The teachings have infiltrated every aspect of how I live, from the way I move, to my relationships, to how I view the world. After many years as a student, I began to share what I know in order to help others discover a richer, fuller experience of life, as I have through the practice.

I encourage exploration and a deeper understanding of the body as the vehicle through which we encounter ourselves and relate to the world around us. I support working with the mind in order to go beyond thoughts to access greater mental clarity, form new neural pathways, and develop refined self-awareness. My classes, whether a strong vinyasa or a gentle therapeutic practice, are informed by breath, alignment, and internal awareness, to promote optimal energy flow and connection to one’s self. My teaching is accessible, intelligent, and light-hearted, allowing each individual to receive exactly what is needed. I teach asana, pranayama, and meditation, grounded in tradition, enlivened with innovation, and offered with love.

I have trained in Anusara, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Restorative, and Yoga Therapeutics, as well as studied Tantric philosophy, Ayurveda, kirtan, sanskrit, energy healing, and meditation, including Tibetan Buddhism, Chan, and Vipassana. I have had many great teachers including Richard Freeman, Amy Ippoliti, Shiva Rae, Jeanie Manchester, Pema Chodron, and Douglas Brooks, among others; and have had the fortune to practice in person with both Sri K. Pattabhi Jois & BKS Iyengar. I am a Yoga Alliance Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 500), have been teaching since 2005, and continue as a student to refine my own practice in order to better serve others. I offer group classes, private instruction, intensives, and trainings, as well as conscious living mentorship working with individuals and small groups to bring more health and vitality to their lives.

In 2009, I moved from Boulder, Colorado, to the west coast of Mexico where I lived for more than 9 years and founded Yoga San Pancho. I currently live in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, and, wherever I am, remain dedicated to creating more beauty, ease, and connection in the world.
