Yoga is a way of life, as well as a collection of practices and teachings that provide a foundation on which we can navigate through life. Yoga is less about what we do and more about how we do it and how we live our lives.
With more than 25 years of study, practice, and teaching, there is little separation between my practice and my life. The teachings have infiltrated every aspect of how I live, from the way I move, to my relationships, to how I view the world. After many years as a student, I began to share what I know in order to help others discover a richer, fuller experience of life, as I have through the practice.
I encourage exploration and a deeper understanding of the body as the vehicle through which we encounter ourselves and relate to the world around us. My classes, whether a strong vinyasa or a gentle therapeutic practice, are informed by breath, alignment, and intuitive sequencing, that promote connection to one’s self. My teaching is accessible, intelligent, and playful, allowing for each student to receive exactly what is needed. I teach asana, pranayama, and meditation, grounded in tradition, enlivened with innovation, and offered with love.
I have trained in Anusara, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Restorative, and Yoga Therapeutics. My teaching is further enhanced by studies in tantric philosophy, kirtan, sanskrit, energy healing, and various schools of meditation. I have studied with many great teachers including Richard Freeman, Amy Ippoliti, Shiva Rae, Jeanie Manchester, Pema Chodron, and Douglas Brooks, among others; and have had the fortune to practice in person with both Sri K. Pattabhi Jois & BKS Iyengar. I am a Yoga Alliance Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 500), have been teaching since 2005, and continue to refine my own practice in order to better serve others.
In 2009, I moved from Boulder, Colorado, to Puerto Vallarta, and then to San Pancho in 2011. I lead classes, workshops, and intensives throughout the region, and am the founder of Yoga San Pancho.
