Yoga is a way of life, as well as a collection of practices and teachings that provide a foundation on which we can live our everyday lives as well as awaken into greater self-awareness.
For more than 25 years I have dedicated myself to the study and practice of yoga, meditation, and wellbeing, exploring both ancient wisdom traditions and modern teachings. My path as a seeker eventually led me into the seat of the teacher with a passion to share what I know in order to help others discover a richer, fuller experience of life. At heart, I am an eternal student with the deep desire to create more ease, kindness, and beauty in the world.
Through my teaching, I encourage exploration and a deeper understanding of the body as the vehicle through which we encounter ourselves and relate to the world around us. My yoga classes, whether a strong vinyasa or a gentle therapeutic practice, are informed by breath, alignment, and internal connection, to promote optimal energy flow and refined self-awareness. My teaching is accessible, supportive, intuitive, and light-hearted, allowing individuals to learn and grow in their own way. I teach asana, pranayama, and meditation, providing a holistic experience.
As a mentor, I act as a supportive partner on the path of wellbeing. I combine my accumulated knowledge of various tools and techniques to guide individuals into greater vitality, clarity, and ease, in their bodies, minds, hearts, and lives.
I have trained in Anusara, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Restorative, and Yoga Therapeutics, as well as studied Tantric philosophy, Ayurveda, kirtan, sanskrit, energy healing, and meditation (Tibetan Buddhism, Chan, and Vipassana). I have studied with many great teachers including Richard Freeman, Amy Ippoliti, Jeanie Manchester, Pema Chodron, and Douglas Brooks, among others; and have had the fortune to practice in person with both Sri K. Pattabhi Jois & BKS Iyengar. I am a Yoga Alliance Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 500) and have been teaching since 2005. I also have a background in architecture and design with a great appreciation of harmony in both built and natural environments.
In 2009, I moved from Boulder, Colorado, to the west coast of Mexico where I lived for more than 9 years and founded Yoga San Pancho. I currently live in San Miguel de Allende in the heart of Mexico. Wherever I am, I remain dedicated to authentic and quality guidance grounded in tradition, inspired by innovation, and offered with love.
